Two locals play as U.S. U-17 Women beat China U-18 WNT in training camp friendly
18 Aug, 2010The U.S. U-17 Women’s National Team defeated the Chinese U-18 WNT 1-0 during a training camp in Florida. The U.S. scored the game’s only goal just before halftime courtesy of midfielder Kaili Torres. The two countries will meet again on Aug. 20. U.S. head coach Mike Dickey used 10 players who were part of the USA’s CONCACAF qualifying campaign that saw the young Americans outscore its opponents 38-0 across five games, but due to a penalty kick loss in the semifinal, did not advance to this fall’s FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup in Trinidad & Tobago.
