Where's Potomac on the boys side? Does the list use only US Youth State/Regional/National results?
McLean is a perennial top club on this list, but they've got some big gaps of quality in some age groups, and I remember a couple of their best performing teams were transfers in to the club right? How many of the teams that put them at #7 were mostly developed in-house? Conversely, any teams leave the club that were developed there? It must be tough to be a club smack dab in the geographic middle of this crazy soccer region! I don't envy McLean coaches who have to compete with Maryland clubs in addition to Virginia due to their proximity to the beltway. Their field development work should help establish some stability there.
Interesting too that Bethesda is in on the boys side - especially after so much crap they got on these boards about not choosing to apply to the DA. Kudos to them for sure, especially being one of very few clubs on BOTH lists. I hope they join the DA soon.
Full Volley, I'm not a subscriber to SA, can you detail here the formula they used to get this list?
Here's the criteria from Soccer America (they have a free 3-month membership, BTW...)
Criteria
Soccer America selects the top 30 clubs based on success of their teams in national youth championships over the last three years and national recognition for players from these clubs in 2008.
FC Greater Boston Bolts beat Bays U18 4-1 in this past weekend's Development Academy game. That was a huge win for the Bolts. Anyone have any insight into the game?
