*bump* - moving this thread back to our list of active topics after we added a few dozen new forms that pushed this one out of sight on the home page.

Also heard something about SYA Freedom picking up a new keeper from way over in Maryland? Anyone know about this?

SYA would be quite a haul for a Marylander. Any idea what club she is coming from?

Not entirely certain which team, but heard it was a team that is disbanding in Montgomery County? In any event, it would seem that SYA really like this player, or perhaps desperately need a keeper to look as far afield as MoCo MD.

I think I heard something about Olney disbanding, so that could be it. Not 100% sure though.

After checking around I learned that it was the Olney keeper. Seems like a long commute, but who knows? Maybe there's more to this story.

Where is Bourne? WE need him. Unfounded speculation about things are interesting but>>>for example, the comments about the synergy quests players out of Richmond. One, the keeper has not come to the Synergy and the other Richmond player lives in northern Stafford which is closer to their home which makes it a logical move both distance and better competition in the WAGS league vs VCCL.

Three top teams playing R1 instead of WAGS will make a difference, but the level of competition remains exceptionally high. Of course, as I just posted in another thread, is it because so many teams are so good? Or is it because so many teams play the same kick-and-chase style that leads to games being hard-fought physical battles instead of displays of skill and technical ability as development is partially sacrificed in order to get the expected win? My experience with WAGS tells me it is some of both.

Just remember, traditionally, the VCCL has been just as good as WAGS in developing regional and youth national team players. And relative to the size of the leagues, the VCCL could be argued to have done better although I am not sure I would personally make that argument.
