It will interesting to see if your theory holds up in the spring, as the Thunder Extreme (8 points in Division 1) seem to be on the bubble. Personally, I think a hard and fast rule stating two-up, two-down (like NCSL) is the most fair.
Yup, it would be very interesting. The Thunder extreme have a case, at least based on history, that they should remain in D1. Will wait and see what WWWG (What would Wags Do)
WSWD? What should Wags Do? If I was soccer god it would be 2 down & 1 up. Then the numbers are even (10 teams per division). Does Loudon deserve to go up? Their goal differential is not too impressive plus I don't recall a team going from D2 to D1 (in recent memory) with only 5 wins & 17 points. Sting had 6 wins & 18 points & they were denied D1. Is that fair? 1 up, 2 down. So it shall be written, so it shall be done!

Very nice, I shall agree Lord Kickit. Let's hope that WAGS will and save themselves from HELL :D
Seriously, good point about the Sting last season. My feeling is MSC and BSC Heat go down, and Vista moves up.
Does WAGS take into consideration the number of games played? This season the D1 teams played 10 matches, so it would seem that 8 points this season should not be equal to the 8 points that were earned in a 9 match season. Maybe I am overthinking this...

I see your point! However, it can also work the other way and be thought of as playing one more tought D1 team that a team may have not played and suffered a loss against. I don't even know if what I said makes any sense

I think you are absolutely correct that the number of games is taken into consideration! Having one more, or one less, game makes the total possible points attainable change, and it is based on this percentage that I would imagine WAGS considers in basing their decisions. 8 points out of a possible 30 points seems to be right on the deciding point for moving down (25%) and by the same token it seems that 75% is the deciding point for moving up.[/quote]
